Help with doggie demos - May 9, 2008

Rowe Lane Elementary School in Pflugerville is having their field day for the kids on May 9. The theme is going to be "The Dog Days of Summer". As part of the activities the coach has planned to have doggie sports and activities demos for the kids and then they will get to do human versions of what the dogs do! It should be really cool for the kids.

What they need is people willing to come out that day (morning and afternoon sessions) to show off what their dogs can do. It's an opportunity for you to help kids get excited about doing things with their own dogs and you get a chance to practice in a new setting with new distractions. If you have the time and kid friendly dogs, please let me know. Kim Donnell 990-2016 or kim@waggin-tails. com.

Your dogs and/or routines do NOT have to be amazing. These are kids and will enjoy anything the dogs can do. Please consider even if you are fairly inexperienced. Kids are aware that it takes time to learn new skills and might be inspired by adults that are just learning how to do something new.
Planned:

Police dogs - are already scheduled.

Agility - is already scheduled but we need agility dogs to come showoff. Waggin' Tails will be bringing equipment and setting up so we need some dogs to come show their stuff.

Flyball - I'm not actually sure if they already have a group commited to setting up and running this? It would be cool though.

Disc dogs - I know she has not found anyone willing to do this yet.  Anyone (from a group or not) that can come fly discs at their dogs let me know!

Freestyle - She really really wants this and has not heard from anyone local yet. There are two people from Dallas that is willing to come down for a couple hours but they want to get paid for the trip. It is a school and that would be hard for them. They are considering it but I think a local group would be better.

Any other doggie activity that would seem appropriate for this event would be great. Please let me know soon if you are interested in helping out. They are trying to get commitments by next week so they can make plans.

Let me know if you think you can help out.

Kim
